Safeguard Coaches of Guildford is celebrating the outstanding talent and hard work of its staff after hearing it has been shortlisted in the Top Independent Operator category in the prestigious UK Bus Awards for 2015.
A total of 4 finalists were selected overall from numerous entries after a rigorous process of judging. Following mystery traveller checks taking place this month, the winner will be announced at a glittering ceremony on London’s South Bank on Tuesday 24 November.
The annual UK Bus Awards, now in their 20th year, recognise and reward the achievements of the bus industry and aim to inspire others with winning approaches.
Family-owned Safeguard Coaches has been short-listed because it is achieving year-on-year commercial bus patronage growth by continually innovating and delivering a quality service with passion day-in day-out. “We are increasingly demonstrating that buses have a vitally important role to play in providing a sustainable transport option for the congested county town of Guildford”, says Managing Director Andrew Halliday.
Tony Depledge, chairman of the UK Bus Awards praised the quality and talent of the finalists for doing the 20th year of the Awards proud. “The spirit of the UK Bus Awards is one of celebration — rewarding hard work and innovation. This year, the finalists have really pulled the stops out,” he commented.
